Paul Swinton

Clinical Team Leader & Flight Paramedic | Performance by Design

Paul Swinton is a Clinical Team Leader and Flight Paramedic working in aeromedical critical care and retrieval practice. With over two decades of experience across emergency and flight-based environments, his work explores how system design shapes performance in time-critical care.

He leads the development of practical structures that reduce unnecessary variability and stabilise performance under pressure, spanning clinical workflow, education and operational governance. He is co-inventor of SCRAM™, a clinical support platform developed from frontline retrieval practice and now used across multiple international services.

Paul holds an MSc in Trauma Sciences (Queen Mary University of London) and the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care (RCSEd).
